Below is a basic overview of how to upload your submitted film to the Academy Screening Room.
What is the Academy Screening Room (ASR)?
The Academy Screening Room (ASR) is a secure platform that allows Academy members to stream films for consideration during awards season.
Make Your Film Available on the ASR
Films with budgets of less than $10 million USD may apply for an alternate rate for inclusion on the Academy Screening Room, subject to Academy approval. Please reach out to ASR@oscars.org for more information.
Who Needs to Upload Materials for the ASR?
You'll need to upload materials for the ASR if:
Your film is submitted and eligible for General Entry consideration, and you've purchased FYC Access
Your film is submitted and eligible in a Specialty Category (Short Films, Animated Feature, Documentary Feature, International Feature, Original Song)
Note: Sci-Tech submissions do not appear on the ASR
Please ensure your film is eligible and qualified (or will qualify) prior to uploading and/or purchasing.
What Materials Should I Upload for my Category?
You'll be prompted to upload the following materials, based on your submission category. Below is a breakdown of category-specific requirements and optional materials. Please ensure you review the technical requirements prior to uploading assets.
Feature Films
General Entry, Animated Feature Film, Documentary Feature Film
General Entry Includes: Best Picture, Acting, Casting, Cinematography, Costume Design, Directing, Film Editing, Makeup & Hairstyling, Music, Production Design, Sound, Visual Effects and Writing

Short Films
Animated Short Film, Documentary Short Film and Live Action Short Film

Subtitles (required if the film is in a non-English language).
Audio Descriptions
Poster for Academy and Archival Purposes (digital copy required if shortlisted).
A digital one sheet poster (27" x 40") will be required to be submitted if the movie is one of the 15 shortlisted titles. The poster must not include festival laurels, awards, publication quotes, or references to campaigns.

When and How Will You Upload?
You must complete your submission prior to uploading to the ASR. You may return to edit the Oscar Submission Form if necessary. Please find more details on the submission process here.
What Will My Film Look Like on the ASR?
The image below shows how a film appears in a category on the ASR. The ASR is supported on Apple TV, Roku, Android TV, Amazon Fire, the Academy Members app and all major browsers.
Scene at the Academy (Optional)
Scene at the Academy is an opportunity to create exclusive content – spotlighting the filmmaking and creative process behind the movies – for the Academy’s global members and fans. Streaming uploads for Scene at the Academy may be purchased after completing and uploading the film's General Entry Oscars Submission Form (OSF) and other required documents. Scene at the Academy is only available for films which have already purchased streaming under For Your Consideration or purchase both options at the same time.
NOTE: Content runtime is 20 minutes maximum, limit to one per title, and submission fee is $5,000. For more information, please reach out to ASR@oscars.org.
