Below is a basic overview of how to submit your Submission Form and other submission related documents required.
Please note that once you begin your submission, the information and forms you will be required to enter and/or upload will vary based on the submission category of your film.
Who Needs to Upload Submission Forms?
All submitters must complete and upload submission forms as part of the entry process. The documents required vary by category. Rules for each category can be found here.
Registering a User Account to Submit
You must register for an account on the Submission Site before you can begin submission. Academy Members can login to the Submission Site using their Academy Member credentials.
Types of Submission Documents
A quick overview of the documents you may need to submit.
1. Signed Submission Form
Print, sign, scan, and upload as a PDF. Submission forms must be signed by all required parties in order to be accepted.
2. Complete Cast & Crew Credits
Upload a Word or Excel file listing your film's full cast and crew as they appear on screen.
3. Screenplay
Upload a PDF of the screenplay, if required, for your category. The PDF should conform to the Screenplay Technical Requirements.
4. Qualification Documents
Upload any required proof of qualification, such as U.S. qualifying theatrical release verification from a commercial motion picture theater or verification of an award win from the current Qualifying Festival List if required for your category.
5. Designated Nominees
Submit your film's designated nominees, if required by your category. Final determination of all designated nominees will be made by the Academy’s appropriate Committee(s).

Feature Films
General Entry
General Entry Includes: Best Picture, Acting, Casting, Cinematography, Costume Design, Directing, Film Editing, Makeup & Hairstyling, Music, Production Design, Sound, Visual Effects & Writing

Signed Oscar Submission Form (General Entry) (PDF)
Copy of the Cast & Crew Credits (Word or Excel)
Screenplay (PDF)
Raise ID (required for Best Picture submission)
Proof of Qualifying Theatrical Release and/or proof of Best Picture Expanded Theatrical Run may be required if film has not completed requirements at the time of submission
For Best Picture, proof of submission to the Producers Guild of America for mark certification or awards-only determination must be provided if requested
Animated Feature Film, Documentary Feature Film

Entry of submission details into the Animated Feature Film and/or Documentary Feature Film form
Entry of Designated Nominees
Copy of the Cast & Crew Credits (Word or Excel)
Qualifying Festival Award confirmation, Qualifying Theatrical Release Confirmation, or International Feature Film submission and approved eligibility confirmation
International Feature Film
International Feature Film is not an option that can be selected on the site. You must contact internationalfeature@oscars.org to request access to this submission category.

Note: Music Categories require a General Entry Submission for consideration
If submitting music for awards consideration, a separate Song and/or Score Submission form must also be entered to be considered. Additional documents such as a music cue sheet, music breakdown form, vocal lead sheet, and song contribution form may be required upon submission.

Submission FAQs
Can I sign my Oscar Submission Form using a digital signature?
It is preferred that submission forms are printed and signed with wet ink before being scanned and uploaded as a PDF to the submission site. However, digital signatures will be accepted if the signatures are timestamped and unique.
Do I need to pay to submit these forms?
No. Submission forms are required for Academy consideration, and there is no fee associated with uploading these documents.
What if I forget to upload a required document?
Your submission will be marked incomplete and may not be reviewed until all required materials are provided.
What counts as a Qualification Document?
Examples include proof of qualifying screenings, festival awards, or other eligibility confirmations specific to your category.
